Many roleplayers have asked for an idea of what the day-to-day schedule is like at Four Star Farms. Here are guidelines that we ask our staff members to follow. We encourage everyone to try to follow this guideline based on when they are roleplaying (but it is not mandatory). All times are in FST.
5AM FST: Morning walkthrough. (A staff member walks down the aisles & looks in at each horse for a few moments to ensure they are acting normal.)
5:30AM FST: Morning feeding begins. This usually takes around an hour to complete. The feed room is swept and neatened up when feeding is complete.
6:30AM-11:30AM FST: Morning workouts take place. These are different for each horse and vary from in-hand walking to a round of jumping. Typically, the "harder" workout is done in the morning (if the horse is worked twice a day). Horses are usually turned out at the end of their workout.
12:00 noon FST: Hay is topped off for all horses that are not turned out; waterers are cleaned and refilled.
3PM FST: All turned out horses are brought in for the day. All horses have their hooves picked before being returned to their stalls.
4:30PM-7PM FST: Evening workouts take place for horses that are worked twice a day.
8PM FST: Evening feeding begins. This usually takes around an hour to complete. The feed room is swept and neatened up when feeding is complete.
10PM FST: Evening walkthrough. (A staff member walks down the aisles & looks in at each horse for a few moments to ensure they are acting normal.)
Horses receive grooming and have their blankets changed on an as-needed basis.
