Join us at our brand new auction ring this Tuesday, October 6th at 5:30 PM FST for a horse auction! Find the pony of your dreams or sell off that old hag at one of Furcadia's premier equestrian centers.
Staff members will have $100,000 to spend. Non-staff will have $75,000. In addition, some players may have extra funds that they have won at a recent event. Minimum starting bid for a horse will be $5,000. Bids must increase by 1k, 2k, 3k, 4k, or 5k each time. You must bid in full thousands (no 1.5k, etc). Horses that are not sold to a player at the end of the auction may be purchased by Four Star Farms. (You will be contacted by Wyndlily if we are interested in purchasing you for the farm.)
Requirements for sale:
--Must be a minimum of one year old.
--Must be a domestic horse/pony breed. No exotics (i.e., zebra hybrids) will be allowed. Miniatures and rare breeds are fine.
--Must have a description of some sort, even if it only contains some IC information in brackets. A roleplaying description is preferred and always increases the chance of being purchased!
--Must have a roleplay post describing your character for the auction. At the end of your post, you must have your starting bid in parenthesis. Remember that $5,000 is the minimum.
--There is no pre-registration for the auction -- just show up! It starts at 5PM FST, so horses are advised to arrive at least fifteen minutes in advance.
Buyers must remain quiet and keep OOC chatter to a minimum. We will eject players that are disrupting the auction from taking place. Bidding is "live", meaning bids are shouted out for the public to hear and are not done via whisper. You may not buy horses for anyone else. (This is a new rule, enacted due to issues at a past auction.)
Horses do not have a say in who purchases them -- that's part of the thrill of an auction. If you do not like who purchased you, bring it up politely with them in whispers. There will always be another chance to be sold.
To get to the new auction area, say !auction. Horses go into the large pen behind the stage; buyers should take a seat. When horses have a completed sale post, they should get in the chute directly behind the auctioneer.
