Hello!
I'm new here. c: Please call me Cat or Miaows.
I first came here because I heard of the Catten for Life raffle, but then I got distracted looking around on this forum, and quickly got sucked in. x3 I've visited the dream and looked around a bit, but haven't roleplayed at all. I can't wait to, though!
I'm not 100% sure what requirements are for horse characters, does this look okay? c: I used the sheet that Wyndlily Sharphowl made. x3 Stuff left blank either means I wasn't sure how to answer or I haven't decided yet. x3
Character's Full Name: Vivella Nicknames: Viv, Ella, Vivy Breed: Arabian Color/Markings: Black Age: 5 Height: 15.1 Hands Owner: Currently Unowned Previous Owner(s): --- Value: $1,300 Offspring: None Sexual Status: Normal Disciplines: Jumping Major Competition Results: --- Level(s) of Training:
Edited with some stuff. Still a couple fields i'm not sure about, though. xD
I'd like to add a bit about her past before FSF (I'm not sure if most people make pasts for their horses, but i've always made pasts for my charries.) I'll be adding it soon.
I've only RPed as a horse once before, and that was a LONG time ago and a very un-serious RP. xD And i've never RPed over Furcadia. BUT, I have RPed animal characters over forums and PM. :3
Anyway, hullo, FSF~ :3

Welcome to the dream! To answer some of your questions, I recommend simply "using teh google". It's amazing what sort of stuff you can learn from Google. Much of what's on Wikipedia is factual and very useful, also, especially when it comes to explanation of the total basics, since it's geared towards people who have no knowledge of the subject they're looking up. Age is really up to you. Horses start their careers under saddle around age three. Some horses, such as racing Thoroughbreds, start earlier than that. Some folks wait longer to start riding their horses. Horses generally live to their late teens, although it's not uncommon for an Arabian such as your character to reach 20+. Owner/previous owner obviously gets left blank until you've been bought and sold. Value is up to you. It's just how much the horse is worth. A horse with little to no training might only be worth $500 to $1,000. A top-of-the-line eventing horse might be worth a couple hundred thousand dollars. This will also depend somewhat on the horse's age. Don't worry about a value, it's not a must-have for RP. Disciplines and level(s) of training go hand-in-hand. A discipline is a sport or task that a horse is trained in. Racing, dressage, barrel racing, show jumping, and steeplechase are all examples of different disciplines. As I mentioned to you before, FSF is primarily an eventing dream. For the most part, our horse characters compete in three-day eventing, which is a combination of three disciplines: dressage, show jumping, and cross-country. Some characters also compete in hunt-seat or 'hunter' competitions. We do not hold any western events (barrel racing, team penning, etc) here. If you have more questions, don't hesitate to ask a staff member or post here.

Thanks for the help! Alot of the stuff, I wasn't sure if you could decide for yourself or if it was decided IC. (Age, for example.)
I read alot on Arabians on Wikipedia before I decided i'd have one. It seemed to match the personality I wanted very good, so that's why I chose that breed. x3 I'll have to read up a little more on the training things, though, as i'm not sure what things Arabians are usually used for and such.
Thanks. c:

I think i'm pretty much ready to start RPing, at least soon. I was wondering, how is a horse introduced into the RP? A furre can just show up and want to buy/board a horse or whatever, but it'd be kinda odd for a horse to just show up at the door and start clomping around. xD

Basically, you can just stick yourself into one of the stalls that doesn't have a name on it (it emits when you walk into the door) and roleplay with people in there. The "plot assumption" is that it must be a new horse that was purchased to sell. Horses come and go from FSF pretty frequently IC, although there are "regulars" who've been around while, so it's not uncommon to be walking down the aisle and go "who the heck is that".
Once you're comfortable with the RP style and think it's something you like doing, you can fill out an application for boarding. Then you will officially live here, and you'll have your own stall.

Welcome to the dream, Cat!
As Wynd said, I'd be happy to help you out. If you see me online don't be afraid to chat or request RP-- I'm pretty much always up to it unless I'm already in one. If that's the case, you can still pop me a whisper whenever you feel like it.
I hope FSF treats you well, Saera
