As most of you know, Four Star Farms does not run for free. The dream package that gives us all of the wonderful localspecies we enjoy, extra map space, and more DS lines costs $15/mo. I pay all of the staff members in DragonScales, although some staff members choose not to be paid as a donation back to the dream. Also, the vast majority of events here at FSF give Digo Market prizes to the winners; generally desctags.
As of the end of July, I am unemployed in real life and therefore cannot afford to put my own money into FSF any longer. Fortunately, through the fundraisers you all have helped me run, and through previous donations, we have enough money in the "bank" to keep us going for a few more months.
I will continue to hold fundraising raffles every few months. Not only does it raise money for the dream, it also gets our name out there and encourages people to visit the dream. Every time we have a raffle, at least fifty furres are summoned to FSF to buy tickets from me in person. Many of them explore the dream and then tell their friends about it. It is important to be friendly and encouraging to these furres, as you all generally are. Keep up the good work.
Many of you say you would donate scales if you had them. Even if you are not artistically inclined, there are ways to earn scales. In my opinion, the BEST way to earn DragonScales is through participating in the Furcadia festivals that occur several times a year. All of the contests give out DragonScale prizes. Generally, as long as you put a lot of effort into your work, you will at least receive an Honorable Mention and get a couple of dollars. You never know when you'll win big. (At the winter festival last year, I threw together a silly Furcadia-themed Christmas Carol... and won my division of the contest. Totally unexpected. I thought mine was cute, but never thought I'd win!) There are usually categories for stories or poetry, or even a coloring contest. If you have MS Paint, you can enter a coloring contest.
In addition to DragonScales, Digos are always appreciated. If it is an avatar (seasonal, Dragon, Phoenix, etc) you can sell it on the Furcadia Forums and donate some or all of the scales. For event prizes, I accept donations of any and all desctags, and portspaces. (At one show at TREC, we gave out one of those flaming sword desctags. Seriously! Whatever you have, we want it!)
From here on out, I will publicly record any and all donations, no matter how small, here on the forums in this thread.
